Grand Rapids Gold to Host “Back To Basketball” Youth Clinic to Kick Off 2021-22 Season

Free clinic is a G League-wide event to celebrate the return of basketball

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (September 9, 2021) – The Grand Rapids Gold, the NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, will host a “Back to Basketball” Youth Clinic on Thursday, September 16, to kick off the 2021-22 season. The event, held at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Grand Rapids and in conjunction with NBA G League teams across the nation, will allow 75 kids ages 8-14 to participate in a free basketball clinic alongside staff from the Grand Rapids Gold, with an appearance by new coach and NBA champion Jason Terry.

“Our team can’t wait to bring basketball back to Grand Rapids this fall,” shared Steve Jbara, president of the Grand Rapids Gold. “This event allows us -- and all NBA G League teams across the nation -- to rekindle support while sharing a sport we love with kids in our community.”

WHY: Grand Rapids is getting "Back to Basketball" with a Youth Clinic run by members of the Grand Rapids Gold. The free "Back to Basketball" Youth Clinic is a G League-wide event celebrating the return of basketball. It will include a 45-minute clinic, plus an opportunity to meet and greet members of the Grand Rapids Gold and Buckets, the Grand Rapids Gold mascot. Music, snacks, and entertainment will be provided.

The NBA will officially begin the 2021-2022 season on October 19, with the G League following soon after.
